Exhibition of the Graphic Artist’s Colony of Makó
These ’bestiched’ canvases partly refer to bygone embroidery
frames, partly to cutting patterns – that is – to ’transplanted’ symbols of
them.
The figures are cut out of a pattern-sheet of an old fashion magazine. They are connected to each other: they come from the same place, and occaisonally their lines meet and continue. My intention has been to investigate on the visible and invisible emotional strings and bindings between/among people, and to examine patterns of human behaviour.
The means: the cut cutting-figures – the strange lines of which suggest also astronomic drawings – are modified by the stiches, thus changing the end-product, as the final goal is not a dress…
